Joyce Hamilton

Joyce Hamilton passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 surrounded by family.

Born in Brighton Iowa, she was the daughter of L.E. McAfee and Wilma Spencer McAfee.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, David Hamilton.  She was a loving mother to Melodie (Mike) and Michelle (Laurie) and a loving grandmother to Emily (Mike), David, Ben and Nik.

Joyce received her master’s degree from University of Northern Iowa and worked as a librarian for many years in Iowa and North Carolina.  She was a gifted pianist and avid gardener. Joyce loved music, ice cream, nature and animals, especially dogs, deer and elephants.  She adored all of her 4-legged children as well, especially her beloved rottweilers.
