Joyce Flynn Kane, 84, of Hendersonville, NC, died peacefully on February 21, 2022.
Born in Loudoun County, Virginia on March 20, 1937, she was the youngest daughter of Virginia G. Flynn (Horne) and Asher N. Flynn.
Joyce loved music and had the unique ability to play by ear. She was always known to have a dog as her loving animal companion. Joyce enjoyed making friends and being of service to others filled her soul.
The greatest joy of her life was her family. Her husband, daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews were the most important people in her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Joseph W. Kane, her parents and her older brother, John A. Flynn.
She is survived by her daughters, Valerie Kane of Balsam Grove, NC, Theresa Kane and Robin Reed of Hendersonville, NC; Grandchildren Ronald Wells, Crystal Fogleman, Tami Fisher, Brandi Riviere (Matt), Thomas Fisher, Erica Biter (Joe Mutz), Morgan Reed (Alex) and Austin Reed; and Great Grandchildren Kyle Fogleman, Sean Sprague, Joshua Lewis, Richard Lewis, Savannah Lewis, Lloyd Lewis, Emma Mutz, and Joey Mutz. She is also survived by her sister, Joanne W. Poston of Purcellville, VA, and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 3pm in the chapel of Shuler Funeral Home on Friday, February 25, 2022, with the Rev. Annie Fritschnerr officiating; a public visitation will be held two hours prior. A graveside burial will be conducted at Union Cemetery in Lovettsville, VA, at 1pm on Saturday, March 5, 2022. Please wear a mask and practice reasonable social distancing.
