Joyce Ann Youngblood

Joyce A. Youngblood, 82, of Hendersonville, passed away on Saturday March 12, 2022 at home following a period of declining health. A lifelong resident of Henderson County, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Fannie Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edward “Ed” Youngblood; her sons, M. Dondi Youngblood and Edward “Eddie” Youngblood; brother, Daniel “Danny” Taylor.

She was a doting Mother and Gramma who, along with her husband, gave her children and grandchildren their best lives possible. Summers, vacations and even nice weekends were spent on the lake where she enjoyed camping, boating and roasting marshmallows by the campfire with her family. At home, she loved tending to the beautiful gardens she had painstakingly created over the years. As she grew older, her sweet Chihuahua, aptly named Precious, became her treasured companion until her passing in 2016.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Teresa Young and husband Alan; grandsons, Michael, Nathan and Brandon; brother, Lee Taylor; sister, Sandra Charlton; the closest she had to a “great grandson”, Gray, who brought her so much joy with every visit; and her nearest and dearest friend, Cynthia Staton.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 in the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home with the Reverend Dan Blackwell officiating. Visitation will occur from 1-2 pm prior to the service. Burial will follow in the park.

The family would like to acknowledge and extend their sincerest thanks and eternal gratefulness to Dana Fire and Rescue for the many years of help provided to Joyce.  In lieu of flowers, the family would be very appreciative for memorial contributions to be made in honor of Joyce to Dana Fire and Rescue.
