Joseph Matthew Slivka, Jr., age 49 of Newark, IL passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 29, 2021. He was born August 22, 1971 in Naperville, IL the son of Joseph and Roberta (Rogers) Slivka Sr.

Joe was united in marriage on September 16, 1995 to Jennifer Thompson and they have spent the next 25 years happily together. Mr. Slivka was a member of the Newark Lutheran Church in Newark, IL. He attended Lisbon Grade School and graduated from Newark High School. Joe was employed, for 30 years, by several construction companies including TJ Lambrecht, Walsh, Lane, and most recently by Witech as an Operations Manager. Joe enjoyed nothing more than spending time with family and friends. Highlights were attending his sons many sporting events. Joe was a loving husband, father, son, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Joe is survived by his wife, Jennifer Slivka of Newark, IL; his sons, Jacob Joseph Slivka and Jared Joseph Slivka; his father, Joseph M. Slivak Sr, of Newark, IL; his siblings, Tami (Scott) Fuch of LA and Greg (Rachel) Slika of Sheridan, IL: his brother-in-law, Dave Wiers; his mother and father-law, Jeanie and Jerry Thompson; his sister-law, Janee (Thompson) Chad Owens; several other members of his family including aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Elaine (Slivka) and Bill Hoey, Jack and Patti Rogers, Debbie (Rogers) and (the late Chuck) Holloway, Paul William Yamber, Rachel (Jared) Williams, Tanner Nowlim, Tyler, Tanya, Tori Thorson, Jordan, Jaelyn, Jax Wiers, Pearl and Van Slivka, Maddox and Skylar Williams, Taylor and Bella Owens.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Roberta (Rogers) Slivka; his grandparents, Jack and Geraldine Rogers and Matthew and Anna Slivka; his step-grandmother, Bozena Slivka; his sisters, Kimberly Wiers and Tanya Slivka; and his cousin, Roger Holloway.
