Joseph “Joe” A. Haman III, 50, of Coralville, Iowa, died on Oct. 31, 2022, at Windmill Manor in Coralville.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Iowa City, with Father Beckman officiating. Family will greet guests from 9 to 10 a.m. before the service at the church. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed toward the American Parkinson’s Disease Association Iowa Chapter, P.O. Box 643
Ankeny, IA 50021.
Joe was born on Jan. 28, 1972, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Mary (Sedlacek) Haman Jr.
Joe was a lifelong member of the Iowa City area community. He graduated from West High School and then went on to earn a B.S. in engineering from the University of Iowa. Joe lived a relatively simple life while enjoying all that nature offered. He was particularly passionate about fishing, Iowa Hawkeye wrestling and the Pittsburg Steelers.
Joe is survived by his mother, Mary Haman of Coralville; step-mother, Mary Cole of Swisher; siblings, Bernadette (Michael) Wojtak of Elk Grove Village, Ill., Daniel (Dao) Haman of Boise, Idaho, David (Ann) Haman of Jensen Beach, Fla., Bill (Amy) Haman of Ankeny, Iowa, Dolores Schlesselman of Baytown, Texas, and Irene Tappan of Kalona, Iowa; half-siblings, John (Vanessa) Haman of Dubuque, Iowa, Jolene (Joe) Bruno of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Catherine (Matt) Haxton of Iowa City, Iowa. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph A. Haman Jr.; and his brother, Leo Haman.
