Joseph Essex

Joseph Essex, age 29, of DeKalb, IL passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 19, 2023. He was born on February 14, 1994 in Aurora, IL the son of Glenn and Jeanne (Culbertson) Essex.

Joseph was employed for several years by Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL.

He is survived by his father, Glenn A. Essex of Paw Paw, IL; his brothers, Glenn A. Essex Jr. of North Aurora, IL and Jonathan Essex of Oak Brook, IL; his sister, Kaitlyn Essex of DeKalb, IL; his paternal grandmother, Edith Essex of Crystal Lake, IL; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanne Essex on July 20, 2017; his grandfathers, William Culbertson and Homer Essex; and his grandmother, Joan Culbertson.

Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1001 E. Garfield St., Waterman, IL. Interment will be private.

Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until the Hour of Service on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at the Nelson Funeral Home in Waterman, IL.
