Jose “Joe” Gomez, Jr.
- September 22, 2021
Jose “Joe” Gomez, Jr. went to his heavenly home on September 17, 2021, following ongoing health issues. He was born on February 12, 1966 to Jose, Sr. and Yolanda (Alvarez) Gomez in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico. His family moved to Texas when he was a young child. Growing up he attended school in Edinburg and went on to graduate from TSTI in Harlingen with a degree in Instrumentation. In 1986, he met the love of his life and “his rock”, Herminia. They only dated for 2 weeks and he always said “when I met her, I knew there was no one else for me”.
They married on August 5, 1986 in Edinburg, TX and had 4 children, all of which he was extremely proud. He was employed by Comanche Peak in Glen Rose for the past 19 years, where he worked with the Prompt Team. He loved to work on cars, run errands and shop at garage sales with his dearest friend, Ikey; build fires with his grandkids, cook out and spend time with his family.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Herminia, son, Jose and his wife, Kelley of Weatherford, daughter, Linda and her husband, Adrian of Cleburne, daughter, Ashley and her husband, Sam of Cleburne, and son, Pablo of Walnut Springs. He also leaves behind his 11 adored grandchildren, Sebastian “Bash”, Jocelyn and Leighton Gomez, Mia, Jasmine, Leslie, Juliana and Adrian “AJ” Jr. , Shayne, Ayvah and Stetson “Sombrero” Ibarra.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 25 from 10:30-12:00 at Wiley Funeral Home in Glen Rose, Rosary and service immediately following, with internment at Oak Grove Cemetery in Walnut Springs.
Under the direction of Wiley Funeral Home in Glen Rose, Texas.
