Joppa house fire under investigation by state fire marshal
- January 23, 2024
The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a Saturday fire in Joppa that caused about $10,000 in damage, according to a news release.
At 9:08 p.m., the Joppa-Magnolia Fire Company was called to the 600 block of Winesap Court for a fire at a single-family residence. It took about 10 minutes for 20 firefighters to control the blaze, the release said. No one was in the house at the time of the fire.
The fire marshal’s investigation indicated that the cause of the fire, which started in an interior hallway, was an incendiary. Anyone with information is asked to call the Northeast Regional Tipline at 410-386-3050
