John Thomas Carter
- September 12, 2022
John Thomas Carter, age 33, of New Philadelphia, died unexpectedly from an unknown illness, at his residence on Tuesday, September 6, 2022.
Born in Chicago on August 17, 1989, Johnny, as he was known to family, is the son of John C. Carter of New Philadelphia and Deanna Snider Carter also of New Philadelphia.
John attended New Philadelphia High School and was working to obtain his college education through Phoenix University where he was studying Information Technology and Environmental Science. Most recently, John was employed as a clerk for Circle K in Dover.
Those in his friend circle and even his beloved wife simply referred to John as Carter. He was best described as lovable, loyal, and kind to all whom he encountered. He loved life and being with his family and friends. He valued time spent outdoors, was a lover of animals, especially his dog, Tiny, and enjoyed gaming in his free time.
In addition to his father and mother, John will be greatly missed by his companion of three years and wife whom he married just a year ago on August 7, 2021, the former Rachel Smith; her children, Abby and David and a beloved step-grandson, Jaxson. Completing the family are two sisters, Jessica and Jennifer; his nephew, Jameson; his maternal grandparents, Jackie and Al Snider, many extended family members, and countless friends.
John was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Margaret and James Carter.
A celebration of John’s life will be led by Mr. John Cheatham on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at 5:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory where the family will greet guests two hours prior to the memorial service from 3:00 – 5:00 PM.
The family requests memorial contributions be directed to a gofundme account which has been established to assist the family in unexpected funeral expenses: https://gofund.me/0e09c959.
