John R. Clevenger
John R. Clevenger, age 74, of Cave-in-Rock, IL passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023 in Yorkville, IL. He was born on August 1, 1949 in Eldorado, IL the son of William J. and Zella (Milligan) Clevenger.
Mr. Clevenger was a Veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Vietnam War. He spent 20 years working in environmental research at Amoco Research Center in Warrenville and retired as a site safety manager for The Morse Group. John was a loving father and brother who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
John is survived by his children, Melinda Clevenger of Chicago, IL and Andrew (Heather) Clevenger of Sandwich, IL; also his brother, David Clevenger of Rosiclare, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Zella Clevenger and his brother, William J. Clevenger Jr.
Celebration of life will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, December 8, 2023, at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL. Interment will take place at a later date.
Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until the Hour of Service at 7:00 PM on Friday, December 8, 2023 at the Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.
