John “Jack” P. Meketi

John “Jack” P. Meketi, age 79 of Hinckley, IL passed away on Monday, November 8, 2021 at The Reserve of Oswego, in Oswego, IL. He was born on July 20, 1942 in Aurora, IL the son of John D. and Elizabeth (Collins) Meketi.

Jack was united in marriage on September 26, 1969 to the former Marie Smith and they have spent the next 52 years happily together. Mr. Meketi was an Iron Worker and a proud member of Local #393 for over 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed, golfing, fishing, hunting, camping, and attending vintage car auctions. He also enjoyed watching western movies, Green Bay Packer games, and NASCAR races. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Jack is survived by his wife, Marie Meketi of Hinckley, IL; his son, Mark (Brenda) Meketi of Delavan, WI; his daughter, Monica (Greg) Bish of Hinckley, IL; his grandchildren, Sarah Bish, Brandon (Jacki) Bish, Melissa (Joe) Abens, and Jake (Ashley) Meketi; his great-grandchildren, Hazel, Eliza, Cyrus, Walter, Rosalie, Brock and Caroline; his brother, Tom (Sylvia) Meketi of NM; his sisters, Kathy (John) Pechavar of FL, and Paula (Ronnie) Scott of TN; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John D. and Elizabeth Meketi; his sisters, Marcia and Laurie; his brothers, David, Dale and Mark Meketi.

A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at the Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel, 141 N. Maple Street, Hinckley, IL. Interment will be private.

Friends may visit from 4:00 pm until the Hour of Service on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at the Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel, Hinckley, IL.
