Joette Carol Huston
- March 14, 2022
Following a period of declining health, Joette Carol Huston, 71, of Dover peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022, in Dover’s Hennis Care Centre.
Born February 22, 1951, at Union Hospital in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Bruce B. and JoAnn (Waltz) Luthy-Miller. A 1969 graduate of Dover High School, Joette worked at and retired from Huntington Bank as a Personal Banker and as the personal secretary of the Dover branch manager.
In her younger years, Joette loved to travel, especially with her girlfriends. She never met anyone she did not consider a friend, and she was always willing to help someone in time of need. Possessing a great love for music, she particularly enjoyed The Beatles and, for many years, she sang in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church choir. Most of all, she loved her family, and her grandchildren were “her world.”
She is survived by her children, Jayson (Michelle) Huston of West Virginia, Samantha (Gregory) Clements of Dover, and Nathan (Kimberly) Huston of Bolivar; her grandchildren, Ethan, Norah, Wyatt, and Gavin Clements, and Hannah, Trent, and Brooke Huston; her brothers, Ash (Penny) Luthy and Wes (Shelley) Luthy as well as a large extended network of family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Joette was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Jay W. Huston, on April 13, 2021.
A memorial visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover on Friday evening, March 18, 2022, from 5-7 P.M. Father Jeff Coning will officiate a memorial service beginning at 11 A.M. on Saturday, March 19, 2022, in the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery in New Philadelphia, and the family will host a reception in the Dover Geib Hospitality Room following her services.
Joette’s family extends their sincere gratitude to both the staff of Homestead Hospice and Hennis Care Centre in Dover for the exceptional care that was provided to Joette during her illness.
