JoAnn Flesch

JoAnn Flesch, 90, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. She was born January 20, 1931, the daughter of Harvey E. and Ellen F. (Murphy) Trotter. She married Bernard “Joe” Flesch on September 15, 1951 and he preceded her in death on August 27, 1993.
Also preceding her in death are her parents; two brothers, James and Thomas Trotter; one granddaughter, Megan Flesch; and one great-grandson, Dexter Flesch.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathleen (Bill) Crawford of Springfield; seven sons: John “Tom” (Leann) Flesch, Jerry Flesch, Bernie (Brenda) Flesch, Larry (companion: Pam Huston) Flesch, Ed (companion: Becky Donley) Flesch, Stephen (Donna) Flesch, and Michael “Mitch” (Teresa) Flesch, all of Springfield; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Nelson of Elmhurst and Peggy Gillespie of Antioch; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
JoAnn was an active member of St. Agnes Church. She belonged to NALC Auxiliary. She was a master seamstress. JoAnn worked for the State of IL in the Secretary of States office, retiring after many years of service.
Visitation: 10 – 11:30 am, Thursday, October 14, 2021 at St. Agnes Church.
Funeral Service: 11:30 am, Thursday, October 14, 2021 at St. Agnes Church with Reverend Daniel Bergbower officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Agnes Church.
