Joan B. O’Grady, nee Koziol, 88, of Chicago, passed away on January 10, 2022. Beloved wife of James E. O’Grady (CPD Retired). Devoted mother of Peggy (Bryan) Parker, James T. (CPD Retired) (Lydia) O’Grady, Brother Michael O’Grady, S.J., Jack (Erin) O’Grady and Joanne (Craig, CPD) Dunderdale. Loving grandmother of James T. (Anna-Lisa) O’Grady, Sean (Daniele) O’Grady, Joan (Travis) Stoll, Monica O’Grady, Anne Parker (David) Engler, Billy and Emma Dunderdale, Faith and Maeve O’Grady. Proud great-grandmother of Penelope, Anya, Sophie, and Jimmy O’Grady. Dear sister of Virginia (the late Edward) Chiappetta, the late Gertrude (Casey) Grendzinski and the late Edward (Susan) Koziol. Cherished daughter of the late Stanley and Josephine Koziol. Joan attended St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr grade school and Notre Dame High School for Girls. Joan was a proud graduate of the first baccalaureate class at Loyola University School of Nursing where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1954. She was deeply devoted to her faith, family, friends and community. A visitation will be held at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, 7033 N Moselle Ave, Chicago, IL 60646, on Friday, January 14th from 9:30am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Private interment to All Saints Cemetery. Donations can be made in Joan’s memory to St. Mary of the Woods Parish.
