Jimmy Lee Camenisch, 73, of Independence, died Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from a long illness.

Jim was born on January 13, 1952, in Toledo, Iowa, the son of Arnold and June (Cox) Camenisch. Jim graduated from Marion High School in 1970. He married Julie Kay Nielson on September 25, 1971, and has been married for 54 years.

Jim worked for Sandy (Hardee) for 30 years. In 1998, Jim and Julie opened a deli restaurant in Independence, Iowa, for 23 years.

Jim is survived by his wife, Julie Camenisch, his siblings, Don Camenisch, Donna Fugate, Carroll White, Robert Camenisch, his brother-in-law, Brad (Mitzi) Nielson, and nephews, Benjamin and Michael Nielson. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Patricia Gode and Eleanor Newhouse.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday, November 21, 2025, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 4-6 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
