Jeanne J. Tyne, 80 years young, of Waterman, IL passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb, IL. She was born on June 7, 1940 in DeKalb, IL the daughter of Kenneth and Genevieve (Cochran) Knudtson.
Jeanne was united in marriage on August 4, 1986 to Mr. Donald H. Tyne and they spent the next 33 years together until his passing on March 22, 2020. Mrs. Tyne was a member of the United Methodist Church in Waterman, IL. She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Education and taught many years at Waterman Elementary School. After her teaching career, until November of 2020, she continued to work for H&R Block and Clinton Township in Waterman. She loved interacting with people in her community. What Jeanne enjoyed most in life was spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed.
Jeanne is survived by her children, Lauren Young (Howard Cassett) of Phoenix, AZ, Katherine (Kurt) Reibling of Louisville, KY, and Steve (Maureen) Bremner of Waterman, IL; her stepdaughter, Angela (John) Tyne-Stiles of Cape Coral, FL; her five grandchildren; her four great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Richard (Beverly) Knudtson of WI, Sharon Woods of Elmhurst, IL and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Genevieve Knudtson; her husband, Donald H. Tyne; her two sisters, Katherine Woods, Derrilyn Lippe and brothers-in-law, Preston Woods and Walt Woods.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date with burial at North Clinton Cemetery, Waterman, IL.
