Jean Dauphinee Andersen

Jean Dauphinee Andersen, 94, of Ashland, passed away Monday, August 9, 2021 at Lutheran Village. Born July 31, 1927 in Somerville, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Parke and Anna (Johansson) Dauphinee.
Jean grew up in Canada and was raised at the edge of the ocean. She lived in Hubbards Cove, Nova Scotia and graduated form Halifax Nova Scotia High School and Victoria General Hospital School of Nursing. Following her nursing training, she moved to Boston, Massachusetts where she worked as a Registered Nurse. Shortly following, she married and moved to the South Shore region of Massachusetts. She moved to Florida for 25 years, spending the last 15 years in Ashland to be close to her family.
She was a member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church and was a regular blood donor. Jean never knew a stranger and enjoyed watching the birds outside her window, reading, sewing, crocheting, and watching baseball but her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Allan (Mary-Rose) Andersen; her daughter, Christine Andersen Konetchy; her sister, Mary Pickings; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two step granddaughters; eight step great grandchildren; five nieces; four nephews; and many great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Andersen whom she married in 1952; her daughter, Laurel Andersen; her sister, Sheila Shetler; and her brother, John Parker-Dauphinee.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
