Janice J. “Jan” Davis

Janice J. “Jan” Davis, 83, passed away at her home in Granbury on Thursday, August 4, 2022. She was born February 13,1939 in Henrietta, Texas to George and Flossie Williams Martin.

Jan was a Christian lady and was of the Methodist faith. She was a very loving, kind, and caring mother and grandmother. Jan enjoyed taking care of her grandbabies, and she liked being called “mom” but she really loved being called “Granny”.  She grew up in Granbury, was a graduate of Granbury High School in 1957 and she raised her family in Granbury. Jan loved quilting, gardening, flowers, and birds. Her very favorite holiday to celebrate with her family which she dearly loved was Christmas. Jan was loved by all who knew her, she will be missed dearly.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, James “Jim” Davis, three infants, Jimmy, Jodie, and Jay; granddaughter, Keri Fleming; her special brother Bub Martin and other brothers and sisters.

Jan is survived by her husband, Glen Davis; children, Janet Fleming and husband Doug, James “Butch” Davis and wife Kathy and Jack Davis and wife Melody; stepsons, Rex Davis, and Dwayne Davis and wife Connie; grandchildren, Matt, Ben and wife Jasmine, Jeremy and wife Shelly, Amanda, Clint, Renee and husband Arron, and Briar; great-grandchildren, Rylan, Hunter, Charlotte, Ryder, Casey, Brannon, Dillon, and Virgil; sister, Carolyn Sue Ricketts and husband Eddie; special sister-in-law, Frances Martin Downing; multiple nieces, nephews and extended loving family members.

Visitation will be from 6pm. to 8pm. on Friday; August 5,2022 at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury.

Graveside services will be held at 10am. Saturday; August 6,2022 at Rough Creek (Brushy) Cemetery at 3500 Peak Road; Granbury with Dr. Mark Roath officiating under the direction of Wiley Funeral Home of Granbury.
