Janet Kay Bascom, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the age of 88. Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Janet lived a life of kindness, dedication, and love for those around her.
A talented and meticulous accountant, Janet enjoyed a long and successful career, offering her skills and expertise to her community. She was known for her sharp mind, strong work ethic, and genuine care for her colleagues and clients alike.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Bascom, with whom she shared many cherished years of marriage. Together, they created a loving home filled with warmth and laughter.
She is survived by her devoted sons: Scott Fowler and his wife, Donna, Robert Lee Fowler, and Terry Fowler; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Janet’s greatest joy was her family, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, cherished memories, and the profound impact she had on all who knew her.
Janet’s warmth, wit, and unwavering generosity will be deeply missed. She was a woman of grace, strength, and compassion, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family, Friends and GoGetters Camping club.
A service to celebrate Janet’s life will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, 10 am, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories
