Janeith K. Cook, 80, of Mansfield, passed away at Kingston of Ashland on Tuesday, February 15, 2022.
Janeith was born on January 9, 1942 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Gerald and Ruby (Shadel) Hershey. A proud homemaker who took pride in taking care of her family, lavishing them with many wonderful meals. Janeith enjoyed maintaining the family farm; mowing, gardening, and canning. One of her favorite things to do was to attend her grandchildren’s sporting events. She also loved helping her grandchildren prepare 4-H projects for the Richland County Fair. Janeith was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her sons, Brian Cook and Bruce (Sue) Cook; her grandchildren, Tyler (Nicole) Cook, Sarah (Tanner) Neel, Dylan Runion, Nicole Cook, and Allyson Cook; her siblings, Sharon (Ron) VanDine and Ron (Betty) Hershey; sisters-in-law, Joyce Pashelich and Carol (Dave) Groff; several nieces and nephews, and one great-grandchild on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dean Cook; her son, Brad “Albert” Cook; her in-laws, Howard and Frances Cook; her sister and brother-in-law, Wanda Jean & Calvin Steward; and her brother-in-law, John Pashelich.
Family and friends may visit from 5:00-7:00 pm on Monday, February 21, 2022 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street. Pastor Dallas Waggle will officiate the funeral service on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Richland New Hope or Mifflin Twp. Fire Department.
