Jane Ellen Palmer, 89, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023, at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls, Iowa. A private graveside service will be held at Springville Cemetery in Springville, Iowa. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.

Jane was born on Dec. 15, 1934, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of William and Olive (Hartgraves) Wright. She graduated from Franklin High School in Cedar Rapids. On Dec. 23, 1955, Jane was united in marriage to Nyle Allen Palmer at the Little Brown

Church in Nashua, Iowa. Jane was a loving farm wife and homemaker known for her cooking. She also did clerical work. She enjoyed crocheting, antique shopping, and collecting. Jane will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Jane is survived and lovingly remembered by her two sons, Brian Palmer of Mesa, Ariz., and Dean Palmer of North Liberty, Iowa; three grandchildren, Cydney (Clint) Ferguson of Waverly, Iowa, Tristan Palmer of Mesa, Ariz., and Isabelle Palmer of North Liberty, Iowa; four great-granddaughters, Charlotte, Clara, Callie, and Caelynn Ferguson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; and husband of nearly 64 years, Nyle.

Memorials in Jane’s memory may be directed to NewAldaya Lifescapes (Nursing Facility) located at 7511 University Ave. in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff at NewAldaya Lifescapes and St. Croix Hospice for their exceptional care of Jane during her last years.
