Jane E. Coenen
- November 23, 2022
Jane E. Coenen, 92 of Dover Ohio passed away peacefully at the Inn at Northwood Village after a debilitating experience with Dementia/Alzheimer’s on November 19, 2022.
Jane was born November 12, 1930 to the late George G. Telle, II and Miriam (Robart) McCullough. She birthed 8 children, currently ages 58 to 70, all by C-section! After a divorce from the children’s birth father she married Dan C. Coenen in 1973 and has spent the last 50 years with him on their modest homestead just outside of Dover.
Jane lived a humble life with compassion and empathy as the currency that endeared her to all her family and friends. She was self-effacing to a fault; very reserved in expressing a personal opinion, the exception being, when she was in the presence of hurtful arrogance. In those moments her courage surfaced and her indignation could sting those who mistakenly believed they had the power to control.
Although not perfect, she was very consistent in doing what needed to be done without the expectation of personal recognition and in so doing made her a reliable, trustworthy friend, mother, and wife. Her commitment to, and caring for her family, friends, and community superseded her own comfort and was the foundation of her character which she passed on to her children by example.
Jane has left her place in the world better than she found it. May she rest in peace in the bosom of the eternal unknown.
Her family includes her husband and children, Mark, Mike, Joe, Jim, Dan, Mary Ann, and Tim McKenzie, and Kathy Doss; and her brother, George Telle, III; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her sister, Lois E. Geib.
Memorial contributions can made in her to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663, and earmarked for Staff Appreciation.
