Jane Arlene Huxford, age 85, of Port Washington, Ohio died Thursday, April 7, 2022, in Mercy Medical Center at Canton following a period of declining health.
Born in Braintree, Vermont on June 28, 1936, Jane was a daughter of the late Henry and Jennie Minor Grover. She attended Concord High School in New Hampshire and spent many years as a beauty consultant for Revlon and Clairol. Jane was also a professional seamstress and retired at the age of 75 from Perfecta, Inc. an aviation supply firm in Wichita, Kansas.
Upon her retirement, she relocated to Ohio to be near her son. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and caring for her dogs.
Jane is survived by her children, Theodore A. (Lynn) Story, Jr. of Port Washington, Ohio, Kimberly Holmes of New Jersey, and Diane Story of South Carolina; her grandchildren, JoAnn (Phillip) Shepard, Theodore A. (Rachel) Story, III, Lisa Marie Stelmaszyk, Grace Gurney and Joey Gurney; her great-grandsons, Leland Shepard and David Visher, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband of more than 20 years, Leland Huxford; her brother, Robert Grover, and her sister, June Fortier.
In keeping with Jane’s wishes there will be no public services. Cremation care will be handled through the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia, Ohio.
