James W. Banther, Sr.

On Friday, August 13, 2021, James W. Banther, Sr., 74, of Dana, NC went to sleep in God’s arms, with his family at his side.
James was born on September 28, 1946, in Transylvania County, NC to the late Charles William and Rosalee Banther.
James was the purchase agent at Cranston Print Works for 29 years. He also worked at Wilsonart. James served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1969 obtaining the rank of Sergeant.
James was a great husband, father, friend, and coach. He loved God, his family, and his little dog Doodle. He enjoyed watching his beloved Brevard Blue Devils or Tennessee Volunteers, but most of the time, you would find him with the love of his life, Jean by his side.
James is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jean Banther; daughter, Kelly Morris (Arthur “Chip” Morris) of Hutchinson Island, FL and son, Jamie Banther (Sharon) of Hendersonville, NC; sister, Sonia Sack of Asheville, NC and brother, Eddie Banther of Saluda, NC; and a niece and nephew.
A visitation will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Hendersonville, NC on Thursday, August 19, 2021, from 1PM to 2 PM with a funeral service to follow at 2PM, with the Rev. Dan Blackwell officiating. A graveside service will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
