James Marvin McBride, Sr.

James Marvin McBride Sr, 91, of New Philadelphia, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021 in South Pointe Hospital in Warrensville Heights, Ohio.
A son of the late Clifton and Mona (Cope) McBride, James was born November 7, 1929 in Lincoln County Tennessee.
James graduated from West Tech High School in Cleveland, Ohio. He then served in the United States Army and was stationed in Japan during the Korean War. James retired from I.F. Manufacturing where he worked for 33 years. Following his retirement, he worked as a custodian for another 20 years at various places in the Cleveland area.
He was a member of the New Philadelphia Elks. Most of all, James was a true family man and he cherished spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children, James (Janet) McBride Jr of Apopka, Florida, Michael McBride of Dover, Larry (Jan) McBride of New Philadelphia and Mark McBride of Jacksonville, Florida; his grandchildren, Mark Fields, Matthew and Andrew Osteen, Aaron (Holli) McBride and Joshanna McKahan, Brooke McKahan; a granddaughter-in-law, Shonda McBride; his great grandchildren, Krissy, Brian, Brandon, London, Killian, Jake, Teaghan, Eamon, Tristan (Alexis), Gabriella (Aaron), Chandler (K-Lee), Miles, Madisyn, Morrison, Darian, Raynah and Emma; his great-great grandchildren, Dartanian Jr, Mari, Layla, Zaythrian and Evander and a brother, Ken (Catherine) McBride of Westlake, Ohio.
James was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gloria (Lane) McBride whom he married on February 10, 1951; his grandson, Dustin McBride; his siblings, Karl, Mary Lois and Junior and his companion, Janet Lane.
A graveside service celebrating James’ life will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover.
Contributions may be made in James’ memory to a charity of one’s choice, however, he was an avid supporter of Boys Town Village and Disabled Veterans.
