James H. Marsh

James H. Marsh, 79, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully in his home on November 30, 2021 following a period of declining health.
Born in Dover on January 2, 1942, he was the son of the late Fred Salmon and Elenora Ruth (Herzig) Marsh.
After completing his formal education, he worked as a licensed surveyor for the Ohio Department of Transportation until his retirement.
Jim also participated as an active volunteer as a tour guide at Schoenbrunn Village for more than 20 years, coached Little League, and was a member of the New Philadelphia Lodge No. 177 F & AM and the New Philadelphia Elks Lodge #510.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, the former Carol A. Hooker; his daughters, Carie (Jeremy) Ehrenborg of Lancaster and Tricia (Jeff) Patterson of Dover; his grandchildren, Olivia Marsh, Nicholas and Jhayma Ehrenborg, and Kirk Patterson; his sister, Lynn (Dan) Perkins; and his adopted son, Jerry Hill of Dover.
A private graveside service will be held in Evergreen Burial Park with Rev. John Wallace officiating.
