James G. Burki

James G. Burki, age 75 of Yorkville, IL passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, January 20, 2023 at his home. He was born on October 11, 1947 in Milwaukee, WI the son of Joseph and Mary Ann (Bertrand) Burki.

James was united in marriage on April 17, 1971 to Judith Ann Dreis and they spent the next 51 years happily together. Mr. Burki was a proud Veteran of the United States National Guard Army Reserve. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Yorkville, IL. Mr. Burki was employed for many years in finance. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

James is survived by his wife, Judith Ann Burki of Yorkville, IL; his daughters, Deanna (Eric) Mussell of Chatsworth, CA and Lisa Burki of Yorkville, IL; his grandchildren, Andrew and Claire Mussell, Thomas, Michael, Robert and Anna Booker; his father, Joseph Burki of WI; his siblings, Joanne (Jeff) Axt, William (Colleen) Burki, Karen (Robert) Wenta, Charles Burki, Jon Burki, Kurt (Kelley) Burki, and Jennifer (Bernie) Esselman; also many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Burki, and two nephews, Matt and Vinny.

Friends may visit from 12:00 PM until the Hour of Service on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at the Nelson Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL with Eric Mussell, officiating. Interment will be private.
