E. Jacqueline “Jacquie” Wallace, age 71, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully, Tuesday, February 2, 2021, while in the care of Community Hospice’s Truman House at New Philadelphia.

Born on February 13, 1949, at High Point, North Carolina, Jacquie was a daughter of the late Robert Alan and Jessica Leorra Harry Wallace.

She attended Strasburg-Franklin Schools until her early teen years and ultimately relocated to Southern California where she graduated high school. Jacquie raised her family in Baltimore, Maryland where she worked as an Accounts Receivable Clerk with Johns Hopkins Hospital and later went to work for the Mars Supermarket chain. Throughout her employment with Mars, Jacquie served as the Assistant Head Buyer for the East Coast Region.

Jacquie was an avid reader who enjoyed watching Jeopardy, soap operas, dancing, and enjoying the simple things life had to offer. She also had a deep personal faith in the Lord and was known as a very giving person who had a strong work ethic.

She is survived by her children, Gary (Michelle Keyes) Blankenship, Jr., Lisa Amick, her former husband and close friend, Gary Blankenship, Sr. all of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Brandon Calwell of Beach City, Gavin Blankenship of Coshocton, Chealsea Vaughn of New Philadelphia and numerous great-grandchildren. Jacquie will also be missed by a beloved long-time friend, Terry D’Anna, of Maryland.

Also surviving are her siblings, Deborah (Jay) Cheslock, Rod Wallace, Melissa Younas, William Blankenship, Tamara Gawne, Thomas Hughes, William Hughes and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jacquie was preceded in death by a son, Gilbert Blankenship, two brothers, a sister, and an infant granddaughter.

A celebration of Jacquie’s life will take place in the Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 11 AM. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia has cared for arrangements and cremation care.
