Jacob Charles Surratt

Jacob Charles “Jake” Surratt, 35, of Springfield, died Friday, September 23, 2022 at his home.  He was born October 19, 1986 in Springfield, IL, the son of Richard and Mary Surratt.

He formerly worked for DORS through the State of Illinois as a personal care assistant.

Jacob enjoyed playing chess in his spare time in which he won 2 local tournaments. He was also a big Chicago Cubs fan in addition to being an avid wrestling fan.

He is survived by one brother, Richard (Jana) Surratt of Springfield, one niece, Elizabeth Irene White-Surratt of Hiltons, VA.

Jacob is also survived by his 5 dogs (Cletus, Hershey, Phoenix, Gracie Rose, & Shadow Garcia), which he devoted his love and time to.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation was accorded by Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
