Inez Elizabeth Nelson

Inez Elizabeth “Beth” Nelson, 67, of Zirconia, NC was promoted to Heaven on the morning of Sunday, May 9, 2021. Beth was born in Gainesville, FL to the late John Henry and Jean Mixon; she was also predeceased by her brother Wayne Mixon and two precious canine friends, Badger Glen and Old Noah.

Beth was a loving mom and grandma. She deeply enjoyed volunteering with her husband, Michael, and friends with Carpenter’s Hands Ministry. Beth was a talented watercolor artist who was able to capture the beauty in all living things. She was a faithful member of Mud Creek Baptist Church. Beth was an adventurous spirit who had enjoyed long distance cycling, canoeing, training border-collies, hiking and gardening.

Left to cherish Beth’s memory are her husband of fifty years, Michael Lee Nelson; daughters, Amber Payne and husband Neal of Shelby, NC, Leah Jordan and husband Chad of Travelers Rest, SC; grandchildren, Ethan and Bethany Payne, Logan Wright, and Meyer and Gabe Jordan; and sister, Dorothy Haddock and husband Guy of Bluefield, KY and her nieces Esther, Rachel, Sarah, and Miriam. Beth also leaves behind a sweet canine companion Lucy; and her dear special Carpenter’s Hand Ministry family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Mud Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Greg T. Mathis officiating. A visitation will be open to the public between 12:30 and 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Carpenter’s Hands Ministry at Mud Creek Baptist Church, 403 Rutledge Drive, Hendersonville, North Carolina.
