Ila Patricia Swearingen, age 86, of Meadowlakes, Texas, passed away on May 29, 2024, in Lakeway, Texas.
She was born on February 11, 1938, in Warren, Massachusetts, but spent the majority of her lifetime in Marion, Iowa.
Ila lived life to the fullest. She loved her children and grandchildren. She was a former president of her HOA and a dedicated member of the Red Hat Society. She loved water aerobics, traveling, crossword puzzles, card club and bunko. She loved laughing and talking with her friends. Ila was an inspiration to the staff at Arbor Terrace who loved and cared for her.
Ila is survived by her four children: Pamela Brackey (Wes), Patricia Hastings (Mike), Russell L. Swearingen III (Deb), and Ronald Swearingen (Irene).
She is also survived by her seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her husband, Russell L. Swearingen II, and her three brothers, Norman, Jack, and Stuart “Butch” Robertson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Granite Mountain Baptist Church on June 22, 2024, at 10:00. A luncheon will be provided.
A Celebration of Life to be held in Marion, Iowa June 29, 2024 at Marion Christian Church beginning at 10:00am. There will be a luncheon following services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Highland Lakes Family Crisis Center. May her soul rest in peace.
