Herbert “Herb” Lee Bowers, 67, of Marion, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 11, 2024, at his home. Cremation has taken place and a Graveside Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Dunkard Cemetery in Toddville, Iowa.

Herb was born on May 26, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, one of five children to Larry Lyle and Mary Lou (Williams) Bowers. He was a 1976 graduate of Kennedy High School. Herb was a “Jack of all Trades”, being self-employed and working as a handyman. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, camping, and loved hunting for morel mushrooms. Herb also loved being with his family, who lovingly knew him as “Herbie, the Love Bug”. He is greatly missed by all who knew and love him.

Herb is survived and lovingly remembered by his four siblings, Sandy (Rick) Freese of Cedar Rapids, Steven Bowers of Martelle, Iowa, and Dixie (Bill) Heineman and Mary (Dennis) Beadle, both of Center Point; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Christopher Neagle.
