Henry Wagener

Henry F. Wagener, 97, of Chicago, passed away peacefully on February 13th. Beloved husband of the late Annamarie, nee Mueller. Loving father of Beverly (the late Robert) Zak and Henry A. (Marylynn) Wagener. Cherished grandfather of Stephanie (Chad) Berry, Joseph (Beth) Wagener, and Matthew (Brooke) Zak. Proud great-grandfather of Jillian, Hank, Leonardo, Minnie and Jordyn. Fond uncle to many nieces and nephews. Henry was a proud WWII veteran and was a survivor of the sinking of the USS Cooper in the Battle of Ormoc Bay. He also loved to fish and golf in his retirement. A visitation will be held on Monday, February 21 at 9am at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine IL 60067, until the time of the funeral mass at 10am at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 455 N Benton St, Palatine, IL 60067. Family will meet at Rosehill Cemetery, 5800 N Ravenswood Ave, Chicago, IL 60660, for the interment. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite Veteran’s charity.
