Henry Howard Harris, Jr., 93, long-time resident of Dallas, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 13, 2022.

 

Graveside service celebrating his life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Chalk Mountain Cemetery outside of Glen Rose, TX.

 

Howard was born November 1, 1928, in Norman, Oklahoma, to Henry Howard Harris and Vera Elmore Harris. He proudly served his country by joining the U.S. Navy at the young age of 17. After his time in the Navy, he was baptized for the remission of his sins, and began his Christian journey. On January 26, 1951, Howard married Dawn Renner and together they had three children, Sky, Timothy, and Holly. He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. He always enjoyed getting together with his sisters, brothers-in-laws & their wives and many nieces and nephews.

 

Howard was always willing to help anyone in need. He served as an Elder at the Cockrell Hill Church of Christ and worked with The World Bible School Program at the Johnson Street Church of Christ. He enjoyed many activities such as vacationing in Colorado with his family, hunting, fishing, beekeeping, Spanish lessons and playing the guitar. He also was a private pilot and enjoyed flying for many years. He worked for Procter & Gamble for 35 years as a chemist before retiring to farming and ranching in Oklahoma and Texas.

 

Howard is survived by his wife Dawn, his children Sky Harris, Holly Roberts & husband Bob, and daughter-in-law Vicki Harris. He is survived by his many grandchildren & great-grandchildren; Sterling Harris & (wife) Kayla, (child) Kylie. Whitney Price & (husband) Joel, (children) Zayle & Thomas. Sierra Gustafson & (husband) Zeke, (children) Vera, baby, David, & Aubryana. Wren Gordon. Stern Harris & (wife) Andreina. Harrison Roberts & (wife) Zhara, (children) Serena & Sabria. Savanna Patterson & (husband) Tyler.

 

Howard was preceded in death by his parents Henry & Vera Harris, StepĀ­mother Johnnie Scott Harris, sisters Sybil Louise Harris Boyd, and Jayne Harris Kirk, son Timothy Wyn Harris and grandson Kristian Gordon.
