Heidi Ruston Hager passed away at home on September 30, 2024. She was loved by family and her many friends as she was always kind, caring and concerned for others.
She was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law and is survived by nieces, nephews, a cousin and her husband John.
She was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Burle and Irma Ruston, May 14, 1942. She went to the University of Arizona and pledged PI BETA PHI. Later she transferred to the University of Iowa and graduated with a degree in business education and started her career in California as a teacher and then as a Para-Legal.
Later she and John were married and moved to Michigan where he worked. After the move she earned a post graduate degree in accounting from Walsh College and took the CPA exam and was awarded honors for the highest passing scores.
With her outgoing personality she enjoyed being with people and belonged to several organizations holding leadership positions in PI BETA PHI Alumni Sorority, PEO, Casper Garden Club and bridge clubs.
She had many hobbies and interests including sewing, bead craft and most of all flower gardening. Some of her favorite outdoor activities were skiing, hiking, fishing and going on hunts with her husband.
Heidi will always be remembered for her great sense of humor, unforgettable laugh, youthful bright outlook on life, a smile for everyone and most of all her kindness to others. These and many other memories will be in a special place in our hearts forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Bustard’s Funeral Home, 600 CY Avenue, Casper, Wyoming.
Memorial donations may be made in Heidi’s name to Central Wyoming Hospice, 319 South Wilson, Casper, WY 82601.
