Glenn E. Granberg

Glenn E. Granberg, 79, resident of Lake Geneva, WI, passed peacefully on December 8th, 2023, in his home while surrounded by his family. He was born on December 5th, 1944, in Elkhorn, WI, to Aaron and Helen (West) of Lake Geneva, WI. He lived his whole life on the same street where he was born after he built a house next door to his mother and father’s home to raise his family of four children and his wife, Jorine, of fifty-eight years.

Glenn graduated with the class of ’63 from Williams Bay High School, WI, where he was a proud Bulldog and played on the football and basketball teams. After graduation, he apprenticed at Northern Precision Casting Company in Lake Geneva. After 25 years of dedicated employment for NPC as a master investment casting mold-maker, Glenn started the family business Granberg Precision Tooling. His son, Martin, joined him in 1994 and maintains the business in Delevan, WI. Much of their work is used in sophisticated military weapons systems, medical equipment, industrial machinery, and high-tech agricultural and excavation equipment.

Glenn was a lifelong Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Wisconsin Badgers fan. He loved spending his free time fishing and hunting with his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends. He traveled to hunt elk in Arizona and Colorado and visited Montana and Canada for waterfowl and upland bird hunting. He also enjoyed fly fishing for trout in Montana, New Mexico, and Pennsylvania. Glenn’s favorite pastimes included spending winter days ice fishing on Geneva Lake and summer vacations in northern Wisconsin with his family. Around the house, he loved to garden and watch the wildlife in the family’s backyard.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Alan.

Surviving are Jorine (Friestad), his wife of 58 years; children Kathryn Stewart (Jeffrey) of Waukesha, WI; Matthew Granberg (Jodi) Helena, MT; Martin Granberg (Danna), Williams Bay, WI, and Karl Granberg, Madison, WI. Grandchildren Robert Stewart (Chelsea), Waukesha, WI; Blake Stewart (Mikaela), East Troy, WI; Charles Granberg, Madison, WI, and Gus Granberg, Williams Bay, WI, and great-granddaughter, Emery Stewart, Waukesha, WI. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive him.

Memorials may be given in Glenn’s name at Williams Bay Lutheran Church, where he was a lifelong member. Memorials may also be made at the Lakeland Animal Shelter at 3615 WI-67, Delavan, WI, because of Glenn’s love for his family dogs over the years.

No visitation is scheduled, and a private service for immediate family members will be provided.
