Glenda F. Justus

Glenda Fortune Justus, 80, of Hendersonville went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Universal Healthcare in Fletcher following a period of declining health. A native and lifelong resident of Western North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Beatrice Fortune. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Justus in 2020 and her granddaughter, Stephanie in 2016.
Glenda was a graduate of Asheville High School and was a longtime member of Edneyville United Methodist Church. She married a third-generation apple grower and became his partner in Justus Orchards. She was one of the first in the area to offer pick-your-own apples, and that legacy lives on through her children and grandchildren. Glenda was the choir director of Edneyville United Methodist Church for many years. Her greatest joys were apples, music, flowers, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Don Justus and his wife, Margo of Hendersonville and Dan Justus and his wife, Typhani of Hollywood, FL; grandchildren, Chris Justus and his wife, Lauren of Greenville, SC, Cory Justus and his wife, Brianna of Hendersonville, NC and Delaney Justus of Hollywood, FL; great-grandchildren, Mason, Grayson, Parker, Isaac and a great-granddaughter on the way.
A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Monday, April 26, 2021 at Shuler Funeral Home with Reverend Dan Blackwell and Reverend Dana Bunn officiating. The family kindly asks that all who attend, please wear a face mask. Burial will follow at Edneyville United Methodist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Glenda’s memory may be offered to Edneyville United Methodist Church, 799 Bearwallow Rd. Hendersonville, NC 28792.
