Geraldine Flanary, 83, of Glen Rose, opened her eyes and was in the presence of her Savior on Wednesday, February 10, 2021. Service: 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 28, 2021, Wiley Funeral Home, Glen Rose, Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery, Visitation: 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 28, 2021, Wiley Funeral Home, Glen Rose. Her celebration service will be officiated by Bro. Ed Harmon.
Geraldine was born on February 1, 1938 in Fort Worth, Texas to Eva Lester. She was married to Floyd H. Flanary. She loved her family and she enjoyed spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren.
Geraldine’s first love was Jesus Christ and was a fervent prayer warrior and avid Bible reader, and she memorized lots of scripture. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Glen Rose. She loved to share her poems with her Sunday School class, and helped with crafts at Vacation Bible School. She loved her dogs. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years: Floyd Flanary, son: Terry Flanary, parents: Frank and Eva Lester, and siblings: Faye Auline, Hubert Alvin, Charles Michael, and Stephen Leroy.
Geraldine is survived by her children: Gary Flanary and wife Toni, and Sherry Watts and husband Brian, grandchildren: Koriann Hammond and husband B. J., Timothy Watts, David L. Flanary and wife Nicole, and Valerie N. Sanders, and great-grandchildren: Joshua Hammond, Harper Hammond, Earl Sanders, and Trinity Sanders.
The family wishes to thank Aline Sandoval and Veronica Abrego for their care and companionship to Geraldine during these past few years. We could not have made it without you!
