Gerald M. Culler

Gerald M. Culler, 100, of Lucas, passed away at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital on Friday, April 2, 2021.

 

Gerald was born July 17, 1920 in Lucas, Ohio. He was the son of Ira and Pearl (Weaver) Culler. A devoted family man, Gerald worked hard in life to provide for his family and loved the special times they spent together making memories. Gerald farmed from 1942-1947. From 1947-1950, he had a milk route for Ashland Sanitary Dairy. In 1950, he became a farm manager for Hess & Clark Farm until 1978 when he went to work for Malabar Farm as farm manager. He retired in 1985 from Malabar Farm. Gerald could never sit still so he continued to work part time jobs in the Mansfield area up until he was 78 at which time he truly retired. Gerald loved taking day trips. Gerald was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and sang in the choir for many years and most recently was a member of Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church.

 

He leaves behind his wife, Gail Harvey Culler; his son, Douglas (Jean) Culler of Ashland; his step sons, Greg (Julie) Harvey and Gary (Kelly) Harvey; his grandchildren, Brian (Melissa) Culler of Ashland, Susan (David) Leonard of Grand Rapids, MI, Carrie (Dan) Snyder of Wooster, and Christa (Jere) Margene of Knoxville, TN; twelve great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by a son, Philip Culler; a daughter, Susan Crystal Culler; his siblings, Richard Culler, Alice Culler (Larry) Durand, and Martin (Vivian) Culler; and his first wife, Donna Mowry Culler.

 

Family and friends may visit from 2:00-3:00 pm on Friday, April 9, 2021 at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 4065 Mt. Zion Rd. Lucas, OH. Pastor Eric Stewart will conduct funeral services immediately following at 3:00 pm at the church. Gerald will be laid to rest at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Zion Lutheran Church or Pleasant Valley Lutheran Church. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the Culler family.
