Geneva A. Winebaugh

Geneva A. Winebaugh, age 96 of Big Rock, IL, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023, at the Accent Care Hospice in Naperville, IL. She was born on October 3, 1926, in Dalton, AR, the daughter of Thomas and Annie (Mitchell) Reynolds.
Geneva was united in marriage on November 28, 1946, to Mr. Harvey Winebaugh and they spent the next 60 years happily together. Geneva was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and niece.
She was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church while residing in Pocahontas, AR and most recently attended Christ Community Church in Aurora, IL. Geneva worked as an assembler at Western Electric in Montgomery, IL and then later as a machine operator at the Dial Corporation in Montgomery, IL. She had numerous hobbies and interests including quilting, gardening, and cooking. But no interest was greater than her love of horses and horse racing. Geneva was not just a spectator. She had owned several racehorses throughout her lifetime as well.
Geneva is survived by her children, Barbara Baie of Big Rock, IL, Janet Gleissner of Hoopeston, IL, Roberta Winebaugh of Big Rock, IL, and Kenneth (Cheryl) Winebaugh Sr. of Custer Park, IL; her 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and her Aunt Gertrude Sorrell of Pocahontas, AR; also several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Annie Reynolds; her husband, Harvey Winebaugh; her sisters, Elveta Fields and Irma Taylor; and her son-in-law, Dennis Baie.
A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL. Friends may visit from 1:00 PM until the Hour of Service on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at the Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.
A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 in the Thomas Cemetery, Attica, AR.
