Gary Lee Dundee, Sr., Age 76, of Cedar Rapids, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
A visitation will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 10 AM until service time at 12 PM, with the Certified Celebrant, Dr. James Coyle, officiating. Interment to follow at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery-Garden of the Cross.
Gary was born on April 30, 1947, in Postville, IA. He was the son of the late Alfred and Miranda (Olson) Dundee. On February 18, 1967, Gary married Alice Cook in Mt. Vernon, IA. Gary loved to fish. He worked for over 30 years as a plumber with the Local 125. Gary served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a devoted family man. Every day since his retirement he would have coffee with his parents, which he continued after their passing with having coffee and “chewing the fat” conversations with his brother, Loren. He was a great representative of his entire family.
Those left to cherish Gary’s memory are his wife of 57 years, Alice Dundee, of Cedar Rapids; his children, Gary (Violet Kelly) Dundee of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Andrew Dundee, of Cedar Rapids; his grandchildren, Morgan (Cameron) Traut, Jake (Emma Lindley) Dundee, Natalie Kelly, and Nathan Kelly, all of Cedar Rapids, IA; his siblings, Loren Dundee and Lou Ann (Yang No Huh) Dundee, of Cedar Rapids, IA; his brothers-in-law, Dennis Cook, of Guttenberg, IA, and Jim (Teri) Cook of Cedar Rapids, IA; his aunt, Clarice Kubasa, and several nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
