Garleen “Nana” Owen, age 73, of Granbury, Texas passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 surrounded by family. She was born on September 28,1949 in Lynwood, California to Tommy and Al’Nella Walker. She is a 1967 graduate of Richland High School in Fort Worth. She went on to marry her high school sweetheart, Arkie Owen, in February 1968. They welcomed their son, Scotty Owen, shortly after then moved to Burleson, Texas to raise him.
Garleen enjoyed her accounting career in the car business for over 30 years. She spent the majority of her time between Don Davis Nissan and Mike Brown Ford where she went on to meet many lifelong friends.
Garleen is best known for being everyone’s Nana. She was a light in many lives, made everyone feel welcome, and treated everyone as if they were her own. One of her favorite things to do was host events at her home and cooking for those that she loved. Her greatest passion in life was seeing her family happy.
Garleen is survived by her son, Scotty Owen; granddaughters, Chelsey and husband Steven Pinksa; Lacey Reich; Mallory and husband Ty Oakes; grandson, Tucker Owen. She had 5 great granddaughters, Charlotte and Daisy Oakes; Savanna, Taytum and Rowan Pinksa; sister, Jerri and husband Steve Strong; and many family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Terra Nanny; and her husband of 53 years, Arkie Owen.
Services for Garleen will be: Visitation on Monday, November 28 at Wiley’s Funeral Home in Granbury from 6-8pm; memorial service on Tuesday November 29 at 2 pm at Stonewater Church Granbury Campus.
Arrangements under the direction of Wiley Funeral Home.
