Francis Stepp Bokirk

Francis Stepp Bokirk, 101, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 15, 2021. She was born to the late Terrell Stepp and Belle Bishop Stepp. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Martin Bokirk; daughter, Karen Johnson; brothers, Glover and Theodore Stepp; and sisters, Zella Harlow, Pauline Bevilaqua, Wilma Garnes, and Marie Stepp.

Francis is survived by her daughter, Krysten Bernard and husband, Tom; grandchildren, Katie Monroe and Alistair Bernard; brothers, Paul Stepp of Columbia, SC and David Stepp of Charlotte; sisters, Berthalou Brewer of Bethany, OK, Ann Stroup, Geraldine Wyatt, Agnes Grasty and Barbara Redmond, all from Hendersonville; and many nieces and nephews.

Francis graduated from Flat Rock High School and then moved to Chicago, IL and married Dr. Martin Bokirk. There she raised her family. She had recently moved to Greenville, TN with her daughter, where she was near her beloved family and mountains. Her career included working at Sears Roebuck and Co. and Wilson Sporting Goods.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, September 25 at Shaws Creek Baptist Church with Dr. David Horton officiating.
