Frances “Frannie” Lorraine Schulte, 91, of Amana, IA passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024 at Colonial Manor, Amana, IA.
Frances was born Sept. 17, 1933 in Cedar Rapids, IA. She was raised there, the youngest of the “Frederick” girl’s, belonging to Sadie and James. She attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School where she graduated with the honor of never having missed a day of school. Following, she went to work for Link Belt Speeder.
Frances was an avid and skilled bowler and enjoyed dancing at Danceland Ballroom where she met the love of her life, William A. Schulte. They were united in marriage on June 6, 1960. Frances was a housewife in the early years, then went to work at Amana Society doing payroll. She worked there for 20 years before retiring in 1995. Upon retirement Frances and Bill spent time camping and traveling, including several trips to Alaska. She enjoyed the outdoors and her special flower gardens. Together she and Bill made many friends while attending and participating in flea markets and John Deere shows.
Frances is survived by her children, Lori (Steve) Harvan of Norway, Joel (Darci) Schulte of Amana; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marj Schulte and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 62 years, William; infant children, Andrew and Vicki Schulte; grandson, Blane Schulte; sister, Jean Fetzer; infant sister, Delores Frederick; sisters, Marie Cole, Maxine Meeks and Rita Siedschlag.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2024 at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Norway, IA. Visitation is from 9-10 a.m. prior to mass. Burial will take place at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Norway. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences can be sent to www.neuhausfuneralservice.com.
