Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Pine Prairie on Monday, January 14, 2019, for Floyd Allen Vidrine, 65, who passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019, in Alexandria, surrounded by his loved ones. Brother Kevin West conducted the funeral services. Burial took place in Fontenot Cemetery in Pine Prairie. Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte was in charge of arrangements.
The family requested that visitation be observed at First Baptist Church of Pine Prairie on Sunday, January 13, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Visitation resumed on Monday, January 14, 2019, from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
Floyd Allen Vidrine was born in Ville Platte on March 20, 1953, to Lloyd Vidrine and Mercy Dean Thompson Vidrine. Floyd was known as “The Gas Man” while working for Reed’s Gas of Eunice. He loved his chickens, gardening, hunting, and cooking. He enjoyed telling jokes to anyone that would listen. He loved to put a smile on everyone’s face. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his three daughters, Becky Brown and husband, Russ of Denham Springs, Nichole Stelly and husband, Michael, and Vicky Vidrine all of Pine Prairie; one son, Chris Vidrine and wife, Shantell of Pine Prairie; 11 grandchildren; his three step-children, DeeDee Murray, Clyde Ware, and Shay Ware, all of Beaver Creek; and his three sisters, Floella Wedlock, Glenda Guillory, and Delores Lavergne.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Faye Vidrine; his second wife, Opal Vidrine; and his parents, Lloyd and Mercy Vidrine.
