Florence Hunt
- June 2, 2023
Florence Maria Hunt was born in Cleveland, Ohio to John Hunt and Barbara Cuyler on August 1st, 1966. She attended the Cleveland public school system where she eventually graduated from Jane Addams Business Careers Center in 1984. In 1987, she graduated from M.C.I Business College then started what would be a 30+ year career in Human Resources. In 2022, she retired from the InterContinental Hotels Group after serving as their Vice President of Human Resources.
Florence found Jehovah while in high school and was baptized in March 24th, 1984. On June 30th, 1984, she married Antonio Harris. Their union birthed two children: Antonio Ramon Harris (Brittany), and Britne Phoeson (Reggie). She was an avid traveler, chef known for cooking a variety of great meals, and a fantastic dancer. Her grandchildren meant everything to her and she made sure that she played a major role in their lives. Florence would do anything for anyone and she would be the outspoken person in any room, filling it with laughter.
Her love for God was evident as not a day would go by without her mentioning Jehovah or something about him in her conversations. Even while offering advice in her secular job role, she gained a reputation of giving a witness about her God and how his advice found in the Bible could benefit individuals. In the coming months and weeks before her death, she made it a goal to be an auxiliary pioneer and to attend the Memorial of Christ Jesus death even as her health began to fail her. She is known for her infectious laugh, quick witted humor, resilience, giving spirit, strong love, and most of all her deep faith in her God, Jehovah!
Florence fell asleep in death on June 1st, 2023. She leaves behind her two children; five grandchildren Javeonte Fudge, Aireona Harris, Dereon Phoeson, Sydney Phoeson, and Harper Phoeson; three siblings Marcetta Cuyler (Marvin), John Hunt, and Kenya Smith (Andre). She also leaves behind a host of family and friends who loved her deeply.
