Florence C. Fry

Florence C. Fry, 94, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021 at Regency Care. She was born on April 11, 1927, in Springfield, to Joseph and Anna (Simanella) George. She married Joseph Cacioppo on June 6, 1949 and he preceded her in death on January 31, 1978. She married Paul R. Fry on June 4, 1980 and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2008.

She is also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Dianna Lynn Cacioppo; one sister, Rose Irvin; and four brothers, Jasper, James and Joseph, and Sundino George.

She is survived by one son, Stephen J. (Rhonda) Cacioppo of Springfield; three stepdaughters: Deborah Grman of Springfield, Nancy Rice of Pleasant Plains, and Joyce Fry of Springfield; one stepson, John R. (Lynnette) Fry of Petersburg; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Florence was a homemaker and a waitress at the Sangamo Club, retiring after 15 years of service. She was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church and the Builder’s Class. She volunteered as a Samaritan at St. John’s Hospital for 13 years.

At the families request, private services are being held.
