Faye Carland Costner

Faye Carland Costner, 84, of Mountain Home went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Pardee Hospital following a brief illness. A native and lifelong resident of Western North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Rudolph and Ruth Neurohr. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, William “Bill” Carland who passed in 2004 and Joe G. Costner who passed in 2013; her son, Randy Carland who passed in 2017 and her brothers, Jack and Rudy Neurohr.
Faye was a graduate of Hendersonville High School, where she was a proud majorette, and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Hendersonville, where she dearly loved her bible study group. She loved to go camping, take cruises and spend time in the Florida Keys. She was a great cook and loved cooking for her family. Faye was an amazing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She dearly loved her fur baby, Missy and was always concerned about her wellbeing.
She is survived by her sons; Terry Carland and his wife, Pam and Gary Carland and his partner, Diana; grandchildren; Matt Garren (Shelly), Krystal Amanda Ledbetter (Cody), Kandy Carland (Vince Griggs), Miranda Carland and Logan Anders; great-grandchildren, Sawyer Ledbetter, Carsyn Hayden and Parker Garren; sister, Norma Dunlap and numerous extended family.
A visitation will be held in the chapel of Shuler Funeral Home from 12-1:30pm on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. A graveside service will follow at 2pm at Shepherd Memorial Park with Pastor Dave Marshall officiating.
