Falyn Lee (Chesser) Schulte, 84, of Cedar Rapids, IA passed away comfortably, peacefully and surrounded by family on Saturday, September 14 at her home. A private memorial service will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Falyn was born in Petersburg, IN on September 24, 1939. She was the eldest of 5 children. She graduated from Petersburgh High School in 1957 where she was very active in their drama productions. She later met and married her devoted husband, Lynn Schulte in Panama City, FL.
Falyn worked for many years in the banking industry at FMC/Link Belt Credit Union and at United State Bank. She was very involved with her church and was a known prayer warrior. Along with 4 other friends of 30+ years she started a lady’s social group in 2003, the “C.R. Glad Hatters,” a Red Hat group that she enjoyed greatly. Falyn led an active life in spite of a severe stroke she suffered in 2016. She traveled a lot before and after the stroke. She loved to travel and ventured to places like Hong Kong and Paris and took numerous cruises to the Caribbean and Mediterranean Seas. Falyn had a contagious laugh that was loved by all, especially her husband.
Falyn is survived by her devoted husband, Lynn Schulte, her son Tim (Janet) Schulte of Monument, CO, her daughter Julie Schulte (Craig) Bruce of Lee’s Summit, MO and her daughter Dana Schulte (Robb) Loftsgard of Marion, IA. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Darcy Chesser of Winslow, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira Curtis and Mary Meryle (Howard) Chesser, her son Jeff Schulte, two sisters, and a brother.
Falyn was greatly loved by her family, friends, and by the numerous souls that she personally led to Jesus Christ, her Lord and Saviour.
