Evelyn Bolger, 97, of Marengo, passed away Oct. 3, 2022, peacefully at Rose Haven Nursing Home, surrounded by love from her family. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Evelyn was born Dec. 22, 1924, at home in Ladora, Iowa. She married Wayne Bolger on Oct. 16, 1945. They farmed north of Marengo until Wayne retired. Evelyn was a cook at the Iowa Valley Elementary School for 23 years.
Evelyn was proud of her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Beverly (Dave) Hartwig of State Center, Iowa, and Charlene Bolger of Cedar Falls, Iowa; her twin sister, Marlene Klinkkammer of Iowa City, Iowa; Duane (Mary Kay) Bolger, of Williamsburg, Iowa, and his twin sister Debby Grote, of St. Louis Park, Minn.; grandchildren, Christopher (Amy) Hartwig, Brian (Brandy) Hartwig, Lauri (Sam) Brockman, Jessica (Nick) Lang, Amy (Alex) Silkman, Matt (Holly) Bolger, Mike Bolger, Darren (Megan) Bolger and Adam Grote; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; her niece, Joyce (Phil) Burgmann of Arizona; a nephew, Kevin (Nancy) Goodman of Texas; and a cousin, Wayne Langhein of Illinois.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Mabel (Langhein) Lang; her husband, Wayne in 1986; a sister, Betty Goodman; a great granddaughter, Aryanna Brockman; her Uncle, Milton Langhein and his wife Netha; a brother-in-law, Bob Goodman; and a son-in-law Steven Klinkkammer.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the Victor Baptist Church, Victor, Iowa. Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. until service time. Pastor Dan Andrews will be officiating. Burial will be in the Ohio Cemetery, rural Ladora, Iowa.
Memorials can be contributed to the Victor Baptist Church or Partnership Resources Inc., St. Louis Park, Minn.
